Reggie Bush says he is forfeiting his Heisman Trophy. The New Orleans Saints running back released a statement Tuesday saying he would give back the award that he won in 2005 while he was at the University of Southern California. It's the first time college football's top prize has been returned by a recipient.
USC was hit with heavy sanctions by the NCAA this summer after it determined Bush had receivedimproper benefits. The NCAA ruled that Bush was ineligible for the 2005 season, which opened the possibility that the Heisman Trophy Trust would take back the award. Do you agree with Bush's decision to give up the award he won for on field excellence for something that happened off the field?
If he was ineligible then he did the right thing. Isn't it funny how overtime rules get changed and Reggie get investigated after a superbowl win. The analyst and media sure didn't want the Saints there.
Different issue : Next year is contract time for the players. How about this: 250,000 minimum 2,000,000 maximum and $ 40.00 maximum ticket prices. If they don't like that there is always the option of employment using their college degree.

The honorable thing to do. Not easy but honorable. I wouldn't want it either under those circumstances. Pete Carriol is the one they should be going after. he was the head coach at the time of infractions. I know He will step down as head coach of Seattle.... yeah, right!!!!

If you knew that you were worth millions of dollars and your Family was having trouble making ends meet. What would you do? Here's 300,000 please stay in school so we can win and be #1 in the country and you can win the Heisman Trophy. Colleges make millions off of Football and other sports. We have a system that doesn't work for the students. Ever wonder why some students go pro early instead of finishing College.

Bush was investigated long before the Aints won their superbowl. He took money and favors while playing and if he would have been caught when it happened, he would never have been eligible to win the trophy. He simple is returning something he was never legally entitled to in the first place.

Who really cares about Reggie Bush or the trophy. How about a Hot Topic that has something to do with our local area. This is ridiculous once again. Is that too much to ask?

Sure, Bush takes a little money, and a few door prizes, and this happens. OJ kills 2 people, then pulls his stunt at that hotel in Vegas over some sports memo's and does he lose his trophey? NO!!!

HERE'S A BETTER TOPIC.... Let's take bets on how long it will take for the DA to let Lee Roy Williams take a lesser charge than MURDER!!!

HA HA if you want to take OJ's trophy away you will have to take the Great Bill Cannons Trophy away also. Add paul hornung's name to that list also. Im sure if you look into it more a lot of college athletes take money when they shouldn't. I would rather see Barry Bound lose his homer run king title than Bush lose his Heisman Trophy.

I would say that Reggae's comeupance is too typical of our times , too much emphasis on money and the shunning of honor and sportsmanship. Add Tiger to the list , a man I once admired , now I pity. I grew up admiring a great athelete named Roger Maris , who I hope accomplished his feat w/o drugs and then he died too young , it took " JUICERS " to break his record. Reggie doesn't seem to care about his Heisman , which indicates to me that he is just another money hungry , second rate street punk who'll be farmed out sooner than he thinks , his 15 minutes ended w/ a " Great Honor " now lost forever. I would rather back a second stringer who gives his passion 110% , than cheer for a " Star " that really doesn't care if we are fans.
Lake Charles is a lot like Reggie , dead and doesn't even know it.
