Thursday night, the Calcasieu Police Jury renewed its litter enforcement contract with Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. Over the last couple of years the parish has worked to crackdown on littering with an awareness campaign, and stepped up enforcement. They say it's made a difference, what do you think?
Clean Bayou, a volunteer organization group, did a good job this year cleaning up parts of Contraband Bayou.

cleaning the roadside is dangerous so prevention is the key and education, lots of it, may help. There are just too many idiots who think the back of a truck is a good trash can, and the pick up from the hwy is free. It would be nice for a few of those people be required to do cleanup of parks and rec. facilities

I've seen a very noticeable improvement in the level of roadside trash over the past few years. I imagine that it's a combination of cleanup crews, enforcement and public awareness. There's still a lot to be done, of course, but the improvement is obvious. Keep up the good work!!

Some progress has been made but it is ridiculous to observe law enforcement officers totally ignoring people littering !!!
More enforcement needs to take place by LC City Police in the areas around Huber Park and 14th Street from Hwy 14 all the way to Enterprise Blvd . And on Aster from 14th St South to Oak Park Blvd including area with First Ave and 16th St as cross streets!!!

Clean up the judicial system that keeps letting the criminals back on the streets.
Clean up city hall with their out of balance budgets.
Clean up the corruption in Calcasieu Parish.
THEN AND ONLY THEN WORRY ABOUT LITTER

Yes! They did a Great job!Very Clean!
Now if they could goto Shattuck St. And Moeling street and Stop The Drug Sales, instead of being politically uncorrect and not worry about hurting anyone's feelings based on stereotyping that would be nice!
Thanks for the inspection sticker for 6 days late Sheriff's ticket!

Mike-
Oh yeah! Just like Vinton: You can buy drugs by the grocery bag full in town, but the city's safe from speeders on the interstate.
