Almost as soon as the bullets stopped flying outside a Tucson, Arizona supermarket just over a week ago, the accuations began. Some members of the media, and some politicians began to a point a finger of blame towards conservative politicans, including Sarah Palin.
Monday night, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says criticism she's received since the shooting rampage won't make her sit down and shut up.
What do you think about the politics in the wake of the shootings, and what impact do you think it will have on the lead up to the next election campaign?
why is this a hot topic? this town should be use to finger pointing..
why not do a hot topic on REALLY what happened to the park at the civic center.
come one kplc,,your reporters (or you act like one's)..see you all should go on america's got talent....you all can act..
i hear it was done so a hard rock cafe or something can be built for the new boat docks...so come on and do your acting jobs

As Sarah said if the liberals and news media didn't have double standards they would have no standards at all.

The only "ammunition" that the liberals have is their rants and raves over one of their liberal-based leaders being shot. In retrospect, I bet Palin wishes she wouldn't have used "cross-hairs" on her map. That being said, a bad graphically illustrated decision was made and could've been prevented. The big problem that the liberals need to be more concerned about is how to stop all the other "nuts" out there with guns who want to do the same thing...

This shooting had nothing to do with politics. The guy was just a nut. Punishment should justify the crime and these nuts should not get off with an insanity plea. There is no one to blame for this but him.

Liberals have no principals, structural foundation, and no solution of any kind on how to fix anything. Therefore they are like buzzards who live off the tragedy of others! They have to blame others for the simple reason they don't have are will ever have a solution to anything. Instead of going on their strong points they must belittle there opposition! This Idiot in Arizona acted alone, I assure you he did not get any influence from Sarah Palin,Rush Linbaugh, or Glenn Beck! It is time to stop the blame game and start holding people accountable for their actions! To say that cross hairs on a map influenced him, then we must look at the mental condition of this Idiot.

How is a whack-job going off the deep end and killing people at political issue unless those on the Left want to make it an political issue? Everything I've read on the guy who pulled the trigger shows him to be a deeply-disturbed nutcase With no real ties to either party.
The left focused on the GUN and climbed on top of bleeding bodies to resurrect their anti-gun agenda.
Then, after getting soundly trounced in last fall's elections, they suddenly get the strong desire to "tone down the rhetoric", this AFTER voters nationwide indicated that the only rhetoric that wasn't being bought was that of the Left.
And that's why it's a political issue.
And I joint others on this forum in desiring that KPLC stick to local issues for a while. I want to find out why the "homeless" burned down Millennium Park for the heat.

Awakened--
Go back to sleep, dear!
If you read anything besides "People" magazine you'd know that the signs on Sarah Palin's map weren't crosshairs, as in "rifle scope", but rather "benchmark" icons used every day in land survey and drafting.

KPLC- Please have some one edit your copy before posting it as a Hot Topic, you miss spelled "Palin" by using Pain or was that a Freudian slip on your part?
Politics had nothing to do with this wacko killing people, and to even suggest it demeans the memory of that poor little 9 year old girl.
So KPLC, stick to local hot topics as requested numerous times by your viewers.

It is sad that liberals have made such noise as to cover up the real reason for such incidents, that being mental illness and failure to address problems created by these people at a time when major incidents like this could have been prevented. I believe this man was recognized as mentally deranged years ago, but apparently nothing was done about it then.

1 Concealed handgun in the crowd could have not only stopped the senseless murder of 6 innocents, but could have also saved the taxpayers serious jack on court precedings, and food and housing for this nutcase for the rest of his life. His life should have ended that day.

KPLC we have enough problems to blog about here. I know your TV station and our local Un-american Press newspaper is short on the truth locally. But for once do the citizens of Calcasieu a favor and print the truth without your censorship!

If the Liberals think America is the most violent society , then they should move to beautiful , peacefull MEXICO

Unfortunately, Liberal politicians frequently use the tragedy of others to advance their own agendas. This is clearly seen in the attacks on gun ownership and Sarah Palin, neither of which is related to the incident in Tucson. If the existing laws for background checks had been closely followed, the deranged shooter would not have been able to buy his handgun in the first place. If we are to believe that using "crosshairs" on a map is somehow an invitation to violence shouldn't we also believe that the use of "target" or other suggestive words is equally supportive of violence? To be the "target of an investigation" does not imply that the recipient should be shot. Only a liberal mind could come up with such a weak analogy. It only goes to show that such an undeveloped mentality is not capable of sound or logical reasoning. Such people are best ignored.

It’s ok for the cross hairs to be up on her web site targeting other people, but it was not ok for David Letterman to joke about her daughter? Sarah needs to stick to TV she is a quitter and a hypocrite. Did the crosshairs cause this person the shot and kill ?no this guy was a nut.
