Creative Casinos has won the right to build a new casino in the lake area. Thursday the Louisiana Gaming Control Board awarded the company the state's vacant casino license. Creative Casinos plan is to put a casino near the L'Auberge du Lac casino. Creative Casinos is headed by Dan Lee, the former CEO at Pinnacle Entertainment, the parent company of L'Auberge. State regulators choose Creative Casinos over proposals from companies that would have put a casino on the Lake Charles lakefront or in suburban New Orleans. What's your reaction to the decision?
Pull those levers and roll the dice while you can 'cuz when Texas goes to "gaming"....all bets are off...

GET-UR-DONE CANNOT WAIT FOR THE COMPETION FOR LABERGE'S ARROGANT ATTITUDE !!!!!

Good to see a new enterprise coming to Lake Charles... maybe. There is still the issue of a local vote for the proposal. Will the citizens of Lake Charles give the thumbs' up? I can imagine the other premier property will be rallying their employees to vote "NO". Since this is the last unissued license, there will be no Hard Rock on the Lakefront for now. As for Texas, gaming in the Lone Star state is still at least 10 years out. The governor is anti-gaming and the last best shot for gaimng in Texas was in the last legislative session when there was a push to open a casino (or two) in Galveston to help with post Hurricane Ike economic recovery. It fizzeled like a fircracker at a rainy Independence Day celebration.

This is great news for Lake Charles. More construction jobs, more permanent jobs, more tourist dollars and more tax dollars coming from Texas. Lets just hope all the anti gambling bible thumpers don't try to vote this down.

Poor planning and politics were involved in this decision. With Texas in the same sinking boat as the rest of the states they have no choice but to approve gambling. The casino's in Lake Charles can not an will not make it without Texas gamblers. I am all for new jobs but this is not a long time venture. LaL'Auberge du Lac casino made the right decision not to put more money in to an already over saturated market in Lake Charles. Also with more and more folks losing their jobs and prices on everthing going up, you'll be sure to find plenty of empty parking spots at the casinos.

I don't care about gambling so that aspect is of no interest to me. However, there will undoubtedly be squabbles between L'Auberge and the new casino. Let's all have fun, relax and just watch the fireworks. Regardless, the city of Lake Charles will be a winner. As has been previously stated several times, Texas will eventually approve gambling and all this "prosperity" will evaporate so lets enjoy it while it lasts.

YES! YES! YES! Welcome back to town Dan Lee! Ever since Dan Lee was forced to resign from Pinnacle, the company seems to be in free fall. Quality standards are down at L'auberge and guest satisfaction is not there. Dan Lee was an incredible CEO and he has proven himself to this community. Mojito Pointe should be greeted with more than open arms by our community. More jobs, more money, and more opportunities for all of us. Bring on the April 30th election!
Congrats, Dan!!!

Congradulations Mojito Pointe on your gaming license. But lets remind them we need to use local labor. Can we get a writin' comitment to use local labor before we vote for them to come in and do the work. Not like Pinnacle where they used most all out of town legal and non legal workers who didn't even speak english.Dan lee we'll help you if you help us.

L'Auberge needs serious competition on the lake. In the last year the quality of that place has gone downhill.

Two questions:
What businesses do "Tomorrow's" Investors who couldn't timely provide a $50,000 application fee for the license currently own?
What entitles them to be given a license over someone with proven experience who previously developed Lauberge du Lac and financed the Bellagio?

Why are all you people so excited about "MORE JOBS" and "MORE MONEY" ?
The construction jobs will be taken by out of state contractors, you permanent jobs will be taken mostly by Texas people, and all dem thar TAX DOLLARS will go into the pockets of the local politicians, and what doesn't fit in their pockets will be spent on the lake front.
GIVE ME A BREAK...You will see no differance in the community with the arrival of this new casino except EVEN MORE TRAFFIC CLOGGING THE PRIEN LAKE AND NELSON INTERSECTION.
Don't get me wrong. I look forward to yet another place to blow my money, but I know better than to expect Lake Chunk to magically become a vacation destination.
