If you thought the Libyan crisis wasn't affecting your pocketbook, think again. Wednesday night, we found a couple of gas stations in Lake Charles where regular unleaded gasoline was going for 3.07 a gallon. Well less than 24 hours later, both those gas stations were selling regular gasoline for 3.19 a gallon. That's a 12 cent increase. What's your reaction to the overnight jump in prices?
You think we should have drilled in 2008 when this happened the last time. We had Polosi and Ried in charge blocking the drilling. They said it would take a whole year before we could reap the benifits of these wells. Let us not forget to give some credit to our idiot President who blocked drilling again. One more thought ,why are the news media not hammering Obama like they did Bush when this is happening now. Dont cry now it's going to get alot worse.

It's going to get worse.
For decades Washington has catered to "green energy" and "environmental" factions with little regard for long-term consequences. Media has complied with this push to the point that the average Joe actually believes some of this pseudoscience.
Let's just see how "average Joe" likes it when he can't afford the gas to go to Walmart or to visit Mayor Randy's Wonder by the Lake.

Demand for oil is just going to get worse as time goes and developing countries demand more. We all know this, including our President who is practically forcing this crisis on the USA because of his policies. When are we going to wise up and get these policies changed? Where are our congressmen? I know it is a global commodity, but cutting off known major supplies intentionally is just plain stupid. There must be other motives.

The first thing to do is get rid of the current administration. Second get rid of the dam tree hugers and animal activist. Then drill bay drill! Look how the people are taking over in other countries, we could learn from this. Our Government is by the people, from the people, and for the people! Do these words sound familiar?

This was sent to me via email by a friend who works off shore. It's very disturbing how the media, including yourselves are spreading these "false" reports and propoganda being spread to decieve the American Public! Enough is enough! Report the truth!
Subject: Do We Have OIL? " DRILL BABY, DRILL !!"
About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and
one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest.. The host said to Forbes, "I am
going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer;
“How much oil does the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss
a beat, he said, "More than all the Middle East put together." Please
read below.
The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in
this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and
extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:
The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's
Prudhoe Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence
on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates
it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is
recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth
more than $5..3 trillion..
"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see
their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the
Montana Legislature's financial analyst.
"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field
found in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's
a formation known as the Williston Basin, but is more commonly referred
to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North
Dakota and into Canada. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been
considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching
for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological
breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves..... and we
now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is
light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just
$16 PER BARREL!
That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next
one should - because it's from 2006!
U. S. Oil Discovery - Largest Reserve in the World
Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006
Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the
largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION
barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In
three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With
this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore
drilling?
They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,
than all the other proven reserves on earth.. Here are the official
estimates:
- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
- 18-times as much oil as Iraq
-21-times as much oil as Kuwait
- 22-times as much oil as Iran
- 500-times as much oil as Yemen
- and, it's all right here in the Western United States .
HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America
become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group
of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?
James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in
this very compact area than the entire Middle East - more than 2
TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil
reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.
Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think
again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think
OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?
Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:
Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you
should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by
doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.
Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you
sent this to everyone in your address book.
By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!
GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

Obamha needs to start using what the U.S. has instead of making the low income esp. suffer. Don't get me wrong everyone is suffering, but people who only get a thousand dollars a month it hurts worse. How does he expect poor people to get to WORK?
Posted by: Cindy | February 25, 2011 at 07:35 AM
Again, KPLC you try to push us into laying blame for something unto someone else other than the guilty party. It's not Lybia, it's Obama who is guilty. We have plenty of energy, we just need to go get it.
Posted by: Wayne | February 25, 2011 at 08:14 AM
Cindy, Obama doesn't expect poor people to get to work his plan is tax the people who can afford it to death and then give to those who cant. The can't is where the democrats get thier votes. We have played this stupid tree hugging, green planet crap long enough. Al Gore and Obama ,GE and people like them who stand to get rich off of the high price of oil love this. You say oh no Bush is the one getting rich off of oil. The higher gas goes the more morons they can get to go green and that's thier oil wells.

Dear Cayenne , I am in Colorado and in the Oil and Gas business , we are trying our best in spite of the Green Idiots and the ridiculous regulations and added unnecessary costs to get 'er done up here .............Colorado has probably 1,000 years worth of extractable gas alone beneath the Rockies and the Eastern Slope. One state ...........w/ this much energy and it is dwarfed by those states around it . Go ahead and listen to Al and Barry if you wish - These days , What's another lie from Goebbels - just propaganda right !
I'm got my Confederate Money piled in a cave up here for .... the OIl Rich South and West is Rising Again - WE know who the enemy is and HE is here.

BP was successful at getting the drilling moratorium here in the US. They did that to stop competitors and to drive up oil prices. When oil prices get $200 a barrel the moratorium will be lifted, probably for BP only.
BP is the largest driller in the world. Goldman-Sachs is the largest oil broker(wholesaler) in the world....selling bundled derivarives.
The CEO of BP 'International' is the CEO of Goldman-sachs 'International'..... Peter Sutherland.
The oil barrons have stated for many years that the US will pay what Europe pays.... $7 to $12 a gallon......
There is no shortage of oil.....just a shortage of honest companies.... and honest presidents.
Posted by: jack | February 25, 2011 at 08:34 AM
Let's see, we get to choose between drilling here, and the Gulf of Mexico gets polluted, destroy seafood, oil beaches and oil soaked marshes, OR not.
Either way it equates the same price. You cannot drill here and use your own oil only. Remember, that CITGO refinery over there is owned by Hugo Chavez. We can drill the USA like swiss cheese. The price of oil will do what Wall St says, and the price at the pump will be in sync with it.

IMPEACH OBAMA and let the country get back to sanity.
Posted by: Mary | February 25, 2011 at 08:57 AM
Highest prices on record (ever!) were during the Bush Administration. This energy HIJACK process has been going on for years. OPEC controls the supply and therefore the price. They love it when the price goes up. While I am not an Obama supporter, IT HAS NOTHING to do with Obama or the green industry. Actually if the green industry could ever produce something that was an alternative it would help us out of this energy blackmail process.

HAS ANYONE SEEN THE PINK DOLPHIN OR DID THE OIL SPILL KILL IT?
Posted by: Marie | February 25, 2011 at 09:12 AM
The pink dolphin was delicious and it did not taste oily.
Posted by: Michelle Obamma | February 25, 2011 at 09:57 AM
The pink dolphin was alive and well two months ago. It was sighted and photographed near it's normal area around the mouth of the ship channel. I saw the photograph.
Back to the topic. I think the question was what was our reaction to the overnight jump in gas prices. I think it obvious that this price jump is artificial and could be considered price fixing. It's the same gas in the stations as was there a day before when it was 10 cents a gallon cheaper. We passed laws punishing price gouging right after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. I guess the reason for not enforcing them now is that this has not been declared a crisis. It's just more politics and price fixing.
Posted by: Mike | February 25, 2011 at 10:59 AM
We passed laws punishing price gouging? This is more absurd than my last comment.
Posted by: Michelle Obamma | February 25, 2011 at 11:15 AM
The people of LC could do something but it would inconvience some of us therefore we probably will not do it. All we have to do is buy gas at the cheapest gas station in town. The other stores would have to lower their prices or go out of business.
Posted by: td | February 25, 2011 at 11:32 AM
During a hurricane, selling food for high prices is called "price gouging"
For oil companies it is simply "supply & demand". lucky them.

Price of gas at the pump at Love's in Vinton has gone up .26 cents in the last three days...meaning it went up from 2.99 to 3.09 on Monday, from 3.09 to 3.19 on Tuesday and then from 3.19 to 3.25 on Friday. Not much competition in a small town so apparently that is ok. They just lost a customer. I'll head to Orange, TX or Sulphur, LA to fill-up.
Posted by: Just Wrong | February 25, 2011 at 01:08 PM
The gas prices jump before the gas is even changed out. Meaning that prices went up in one night 10 cents in Kinder. That gas is the same that was there earlier in the day. They are quick at raising the prices, but slow at bringing them down. All this is going to do is hurt the economy again. With travel season coming up people will have to stay home.

Blame the no good S.O.B. squatting illegally in the White House for this. It's almost impossible for oil companies to get licenses to drill in the Gulf. This has been going on since the BP disaster. I wouldn't be surprised if Ovomit and the rest of the crooked feds like his pal Holder weren't behind that BP explosion anyway as an excuse to stop drilling in the Gulf. The reason he wants drilling in the Gulf stopped is because he has invested in a company that is drilling off the coast of Brazil and the higher oil prices are, the more money he'll make. I always thought Carter was the worst president in the history of this country, but the despicable piece of garbage squatting in the White House now makes Carter look like an amateur.
Posted by: Robert Wayne | February 25, 2011 at 02:09 PM
To: Robert Wayne:
Where did this information come from?
To think that Obammy had responsibility in the BP disaster is crazy. Obama was speaking out against high oil prices. During the Bush admin, the highest oil prices on record were happening. The problem with drill drill drill is SPILL SPILL SPILL. Is that what you want? More oil spills? The lack of regulation and rule enforcement is why we had the BP SPILL. Now oil companies want to complain about the regulations that are in place? They apparently don't abide by the regulations anyway. At least not BP. AND
WHAT OIL COMPANY IS OBAMA INVESTED IN. DO TELL......

No one is making anyone buy 4x4 suvs,4x4 F150,F250 trucks(that never leave the road),
Expeditions, Suburbans,Yukons,Ram Trucks,GT Mustangs, SS Camaro's and these huge boats. All gas guzzlers.
If you chose to drive them, then fill them up and drive them. And yes they usually have only one person in them most of the time. Go Big and go American. Oil Greedy!
Posted by: Bob | February 25, 2011 at 04:45 PM
I will explain it again but in simple terms with simple math. The truck comes to the gas station and sells it's gas for 2.50 a gallon. Every day the price of oil is going up. So the next load will cost way more. If the price at the pump stays the same instead of rising with oil prices then that gas station will continually lose money. They must raise the price to be able to pay for the next truck that will be selling gas for 3.50 a gallon. If they do not, they will not only not profit, they will go in da hole.
