Wednesday morning President Obama attempted to put to rest a controversy that has dogged him for more than two years. Was he really born in the USA, and therefore eligible to be president? Wednesday, the White House released a more detailed version of the president's birth certificate.
Does this end the "birther" debate?
no he was not or it wouldn't have been a problem to show it the first time.

Like I said yesterday the birth certificate was signed 3 days ago by someone with a PHD now that is one overpaid or underpaid depending on how you look at it file clerk.

John McCain was said to be born near the Panama Canal in a US army base. Back in 2008 it was brought up then dropped. I don’t remember seeing his birth certificate all over the news or internet. The rush limbaugh, Glenn Becks of the world still won’t be happy. No matter what he does it will never make the rebuplic and racist people happy? The administration could get out of debt tomorrow but they would say it’s because the republicans took back the house or senate. Enough already about this birth certificate, go waste money on trying to figure out if steroids are being used in sports.

the White House doesn't owe anyone an explanation or more detailed birth certificate. Does it really matter where he was born? We've had 'American born' presidents of the past that didn't own up to thier discrepencies. Why didn't Bush provide more evidence to the WMD claim?!? What's the REAL reason we're at war?! Come on people...let's stick to the facts & issues that will affect this country for years tocome. Bickering over a birther claim is ridiculous!

I couldn't care less where someone was born. Just do the job required. Although it must be said that it is a very sad sign for our country that a sitting president had to produce a long form birth certificate when there's been clear and publicly accessible proof for the past 50 or so years that he was born in Hawaii. I think we need to look at each other to find out what's wrong with this country instead of looking to our elected officials.

The reason he did not produce more than what he did produce earlier,is because once stupid people get something in their stupid heads nothing is going to convince them otherwise.A recent poll said that 45% of republicans believed he was not born in the U.S.A.Thats really scarey.I would bet the number would be much higher in this area.They walk among us.Good Good Christians,the kind that has to remind you how good they are.
