Ending oil industry tax breaks?

President Obama repeated his call Tuesday for an end to $4 billion in oil industry tax breaks as gas prices approach $4 a gallon.

In a letter to congressional leaders, the president said the oil industry is profitable enough without the tax incentives and that the money should be spent on alternative energy sources, and conservation.

Once upon a time long long ago. The Government use to subsidize Oil Companies when they drilled for oil it cost one or two million dollars per well and nine out ten would be dry wells. The Democrats took that away from the Oil Companies. The result from that was it was cheaper to buy foreign oil than drill here. The price for Oil was Thirty dollars a barrel. Gas about twenty-five cents a gallon. The price is almost four DOLLARS A GALLON. Watch out they are going to do it again. I've been around for a while seen a lot and we keep making the same dumb mistakes. I may not understand all things but this I know. There's no cure for stupid.

oh, and what goes into getting that oil to the pump? truck drivers, station attendants,

I believe that in 50 year or so, when everything is "green", the idea of using oil to run the world may be a bit repulsive to the average citizen. In the mean time, we better take GOOD care of our oil producing companies and do everything else possible to make drilling productive, profitable and attractive to adding new business. This is just the opposite approach the idiot president has taken. He wants to take the oil company out and run your car on a windmill. Coal sounds messy, but is an extremely valuable source of energy because it is available, it is not expensive and will solve many gaps we have now. The president needs to get real when it comes to energy management. When gas goes to $5 per gallon and you can not afford a bag of rice, think of all the good things the president did in policy to make it happen in such a brief time period. If you get sick of thinking about this blotched program, try foreign policy, management of money thru the Fed, or anythhing else he has touched and turned into a loss for Americans.

Also why does he not tell the EPA to relax that would help lower prices, heck Shell has 27B barrels waiting to be refined from our country not a foreign one.
Maybe instead of trump we should ask the ceo of Ford to run, they did not take a bail out loan and our the most prosperous auto manufacture, must be doing something right.
