A small Minnesota community is mourning the loss of two teenage girls... the apparent victims of a teen suicide pact. Authorities say last weekend, the 14 year olds took their own lives at a sleep-over. That after one of the girls had been the victim of school bullying. The Centers for Disease Control released results of a 2009 health survey, and it found that 30 to 40 percent of middle school students admitted to being involved in or affected by bullying. Experts say schools, students, and families need to work together to recognize warning signs and also implement anti-bullying education programs. There will be bullies all through life. It just doesn't stop when you get out of school. FIGHT BACK. Instead of two young girls killing themselves they should have made a pack to kick the bullies a##. We shelter our kids way to much. I am not saying it is right to fight but in life you have to stand up for yourself.

I guess we were tougher , to have survived the " Bullying " when we were in school. I think we called it " Fighting " mentally and physically , you people are failures as parents and the " weak " shall perish , Charles Darwin , Humans are Predators , our Principals used to correct bullying w/ a paddle before lawyers represented school children. The girls are dead and that is unfortunate , so PROSECUTE the PERPS for MURDER or Shut Up. NO MORE Shrinks are needed , if you have a problem that you parents can't handle , bring the little darlings to me and I'll quickly change their minds , FEAR must be met with FEAR or you just die.

We all dealt with bullies in our childhood. The only difference today is the method for delivering the insults and intimidation. As Lucy Ferr said, we have sheltered our children too much instead of letting them settle their own disputes. A schoolyard bully was dealt with in the schoolyard when kids eventually got tired of mistreatment. Suicide, while certainly tragic, has been a choice of kids (and adults)since time began and it will remain so. Laws aren't going to change anything although keeping lawyers out of the picture will probably make solutions much more swift and palatable. I, for one, don't want to be wrapped in a stifling blanket of laws. When that happens, justice takes a backseat to the theatrics of the court.

I was(am) a bully. I suppose it is in my genes. From 1st grade on, if you made me mad you were delt with. I do some crazy things to get my way. I once beat a kid up two days before prom, he had two black eyes and a broken nose. I felt real good about that one. Not to mention a couple of girls I hit along the way. I had to show them who was in control. Only the strong survive, except for Bill Gates, he's done well. Gotta go, there's some puppies i need to kick.

Be Real posts an interesting but predictable comment. You knew somebody had to play the fall guy in order to incite some responses. If he had done what he claims in his blog, he'd already be feeding worms in some remote hole in the ground. Those of us from the "old school" would have seen to it.
