Three days after U.S. forces killed Osama Bin Laden, there's a decision. No photographs of the terrorist's body will be made public. The President says presenting the photos as a trophy would go against what americans stand for. Key Republicans are backing his decision. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas said, "I don't see any point in the macabre picture." And Arizona Senator John McCain said, "I think there's ample proof it was Osama Bin Laden." Do you agree with the decision not to show the pictures of Bin Laden's body?
I do not know what proof positive is for his death other than proper DNA testing. There were no independent testing done I am sure unless the guy was part of the invasion team. Photos are easily manipulated and don't mean too much except you can make the subject look as good or as bad as you wish them to be. I am sure there is enough "proof" out there without a photo of a bloody face with a bullet hole in it. It is pretty hard to miss a target from a few feet away, especially if you are trained as much as these special teams are. It is most important that the data available in that compound be gathered quickly, and action taken quickly on the findings of data and other information. It may save a life of an American

We all know OBL is still alive raising 70 virgin sheep somewhere in the mountains.
Well somebody please tell me where the Police Jury gets it's money from?
I saw in a commercial last night that contraband has all these sponsors, like Billy Navarre, Malibu Rum, some country and western station, point is what do they do with the sponsor's money? Why do we have to pay for ticket and parking??
Will someone like our current mayor explain this to the public.
I never would charge...

Trust me, the pictures will be leaked and posted on the Internet before you know it. Some have already appeared.
DA Gardner, I wish I could answer you're question about the police jury, I would like to know too. Yet we still haven't been told how much money the park was insured for, yet they keep begging for more and more money to build this big expense park that the downtown thugs will eventually take over. Just like the last one. Heck, why not just build a homeless shelter in the new park and make them pick up the trash to pay for rent.

What the people of the U.S. and around the world need to remember is that the United States of America is at war. Our comander in chief did not make the decision to not release photos alone. I think we do have the right to know, but, not at the expence of out national security. What good or what harm would come from the release of these photos. I think too much has already been released about the military operation of the brave men and women who took part in it. I dont think our right to know should give informaton that could put the next operation in jeopardy. Pictures have been released in the past but that was not the same as what is happening now. Lets support our brave men and women around the world, our military leaders, and our comander in chief.

I continually hear that "justice has been served". The problem I have with this is that there has been no trial or verdict. We seem to need to justify this killing in a context other than a war.
Clear and simple to me this is a war, it started with 9/11 and we did not ask for it. We do not parade casualties in war. I do not care about his death. I only care that it is progress and the best for our troops on the ground.
Had this death been a carrying out of a sentencing from a trial, sure it should be made public. That is the purpose of the judicial system. Not the case.
Unfortunately, politics and public image of elected officials carries more weight than the war and its effects. For our President, commander and chief, to get on public TV and claim political points is a shame. This "Hitler" does not deserve the publicity he is receiving.
Simply, the mission and these soliders should be honored.
Move on. How is the war going. Lets hear from a Military officer the value of this strategic mission and where do we go from here.

HAHAHA- you said it brother, if they build this park we will have the homeless showering in the sprinklers, nice image to burn into the kiddies brain, sleeping in the tunnels, watering the palm trees hell if it gets clod enough burning the palm trees. And yes how much was it insured for?
Well at least the locals and people from Texas will have a one stop shop for drugs and prostitutes, which works out well now that the are trying to clean up enterprise.

No worse than the driver's ed films back in ancient High School when guts and gore were normal - no shrinks or counselors were required. Too bad we didn't bone him like a fish - The UN-POTUS has no relative opinion that we mere peones care about nor can we relate to.

DA GARDNER, YOU ARE SO FULL OF IT !!!!!
Posted by: ALLEN | May 05, 2011 at 11:34 AM
IF YOUR HOME BURNS DOWN YOU REBUILD WITH WHATEVER INSURANCE YOU GET,UNLESS YOU HAVE EXTRA MONEY IN THE BANK. YOU DO NOT GO AROUND TOWN BEGGING FOR FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO REBUILD BIGGER THAN WHAT YOU HAD TO BEGIN WITH ....

Silly KPLC, the pictures have already been leaked, if you could actually do any investigative reporting you would have known this already!

okay already so OBL is dead & gone. I for one do not need to see the gory pics of a horrible person who got what he deserved. What does concern me is the fact that we will have yet another gambling place to show our grandchildren, the price of getting in to something that is going on (Contraband)is so expensive and long lived the horse that carried our ancestors and still today carry some of us.I do not live in the city (Thank You Lord)but other horse owners have lived here with their horses for years and now they have to find other places for them because the city doesn't want them to be here.

Allen- Just what is your problem, did someone make you use your small brain today?
I simply state the truth. The police jury donated 50 grand to that park I want to know where they get their money. And I and others have been saying from the start rebuild the park with insurance money ONLY.
And if you think being charged to park and enter a facility that is owned by US the tax payer then I might suspect that your one of Roaches minors......

Seeing is beleiving. The best way to tell if Obama is not telling the truth is when his lips move.
Posted by: steve | May 05, 2011 at 12:48 PM
Hmmmm...I almost forgot what the topic was supposed to be. I don't need to see Osama's corpse to believe he's dead and the pictures "leaked" to the internet are clearly photoshopped and are fake. Yesterday I saw a website that had posted two of the "corpses" next to a picture of a very alive Osama. The details like the position of the head, the shape of the mouth and even the number of teeth exposed in both photographs are IDENTICAL. As far as I'm concerned, Osama is dead so let's move on with out "war" on terrorism.

Ooops, I meant to say let's move on with our "war" on terrorism. It's certainly not going to stop with the death of Osama.

"Seeing is Believing"?
Like showing a photo of SLOT MACHINES with your lead story about VIDEO POKER?
With as much gaming as we have within fifty miles of Lake Chuck, you'd think that a) KPLC would imagine that SOME of its viewers might know the difference, and b) wouldn't resort to lame stock footage to illustrate its superlative news-gathering efforts.
Tell me, does anyone beside poor Theresa Schmidt ever get out of the office at KPLC? Come on, people! Let's get our "ACT" together...

Posted by: DA. GARDNER FOR MAYOR | May 05, 2011 at 01:26 PM
Silly Rick ....if you saw any photo's they were fake of OBL dead and now you, like the 3 silly senators that said they saw photo's are having to backtrack.Dont believe everything you see on the internet..Dummy.
Off Subject:
Why doesn't KPLC ask the city exactly how much insurance the city had on the park that burned,I have never seen a figure on the amount it was insured for,I have seen figures on what it will cost to build the new park and I have seen figures on how much has been donated by different people, but for some reason the officials never say how much it was insured for and such a fine station like KPLC one would think, would ask that question.
