I'm only 23 years old, so the fact that I'm even talking about a bucket list now may seem a little strange...but everyone has one. You know, that magical list of dreams that you hope to conquer before moving to the great beyond?
Well, the Final Four has always been on the top of my list and has quickly become my number one now that my Alma mater, UConn, is playing in the biggest night in all of college basketball.
As I was sitting with my best friend BreAnn (former Husky tennis star) in front of a record 75,421 screaming fans, all I kept thinking was, "Wow, I can't believe we're here." The energy level and excitement was indescribable. As a former athlete, student and now sportscaster, my appeciation for the game and what this team has a accomplished is vastly different.
I used to cover this team as a reporter at the UConn tv station and as a production assistant/producer at NBC Connecticut in Hartford. So for me, I feel like it was fate that this Husky team just so happened to make the Final Four right down the road in Houston.
While I'm slightly jealous that I cannot be on the media sideline tomorrow night when UConn plays Butler for the title, there is something to be said for being a fan. It doesn't get any better than this.
Stay tuned for more...

I know this isn't the right link, but I was watching the news today at 6 and they were talking about how they are doing everything they can so that another McNeese students doesn't get hit by a car while crossing the street. Today, first day of school, I watch a white van hit a young man while he cross the street in front of gale hall around 8:30 a.m. They student hit the button, waited for traffic to stop an a van came out of no where and it him. The student was on skates. I think he was kind of embarressed because he let the person that hit him in a white company van leave, and he limped off and said he was fine. Someone else will die if we do not find a way to protect our students. I know this sounds kiddy but maybe they should put a crossing guard at the cross ways. Just a thought.
