TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT FOR SWLA AND ACADIANA UNTIL 9:00PM, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CAMERON AND VERMILION PARISHES.
Severe storms are knocking on our doorstep here in SWLA as of the two o'clock hour Friday afternoon. After round one on Wednesday and round two on Thursday, this final round is anticipated to push through the area through the afternoon and evening hours tonight. Expect scattered thunderstorms to develop from west to east through the next few hours. Strong winds and hail will be expected with any of these storms. A tornado is a real possibility in any of these rapidly developing thunderstorms. Cameron and Vermilion parishes are not out to the realm of strong to severe storms developing, as conditions are favorable for the formation of tornadoes in and around the tornado watch box. Stay tuned to KPLC-TV for the most up to date information and to see if a warning is issued for your area. remember, a warning of any type means that severe weather is either occurring or imminent and you could be in grave danger. Now is the time to have your preparations ready and your action plan ready to activate. The best place to be during a tornado is the lowest, most central point of a sturdy building away from doors and windows.
